Chapter 04 Incubation
Incubation: Warmth · Containment · Emergence
Warmth · Containment · Emergence
Intubation is an exploration of life itself, with orange light flowing and nurturing the space. The two lamps differ in scale and color rhythm: the smaller lamp resembles a budding life, with vibrant and concentrated light; the larger lamp evokes maturity, with evenly distributed, gentle warmth. Both exist independently yet resonate with each other in color and mood, inviting viewers to experience the flow of life from its inception to growth.
The small lamp glows bright yellow on top, with a richer, more saturated orange below, as if a tiny life is breathing within the light. Its intense color creates a compact, energetic atmosphere, like a seed sprouting, radiating a distinct tension and warmth in the space.
The large lamp displays a uniform, soft orange, evoking the warm breath of a mature life. Its gentle, steady light creates a sense of embrace and calm. It dialogues with the small lamp: the small lamp represents the initial stirrings of life, while the large lamp embodies its expansion and unfolding. Together, they sketch the rhythm and warmth of growth.
The bio-plastic naturally forms tiny bubbles on its surface, which, from a distance, resemble points of light trapped in water, as if tiny lives are nurtured within the space. Light refracted through these bubbles creates subtle shadows and reflections, enhancing the work’s vibrancy and tactile imagination. The curves, flowing light, and transparency invite viewers to feel the delicate interaction between light and material, akin to observing the pulse of life.
From small to large, from budding to maturity, Intubation captures the rhythm of life and the flow of light. The warmth of orange light illuminates not only the space but also the subtle moments of life, allowing viewers to feel the tension of growth and existence in stillness.
