Chapter 03 Chromatic Lamps
Chromatic Lamps: Differentiated Sensitivities
Differentiated Sensitivities
This series explores the subtle perception of light and color. Chromatic Lamps present two moods through blue and violet lighting, each with its own character, yet resonating with each other through the flow of color. Each lamp is not only a piece of furniture but also a story, inviting viewers to experience nuanced emotions through light and shadow.
The blue lamp resembles a tranquil deep sea, with light that is soft yet imbued with calmness. It evokes a soothing, contemplative atmosphere, naturally slowing one’s breath to feel the rhythm of light. The blue glow forms a subtle dialogue with its surroundings, as if stretching time in that moment.
The violet lamp adds a sense of mystery and subtle emotional intensity to the calmness of blue. Like starlight flickering in the night sky, it carries a gentle emotional tension. Between blue and violet, there is continuity as well as contrast: blue is the breath, violet is the heartbeat, together creating an emotional space of color.
In the details, textures, the curvature of light, and the shadows it casts come together to create a unique tactile and visual experience. Viewers can approach closely to feel the interaction of color and light, or observe from afar to notice the subtle shifts in atmosphere they create in the space.
Blue and violet, different colors, different rhythms, yet woven into an emotional dialogue within the same series. Chromatic Lamps is an exploration of the emotionality of color and a quiet narrative on the relationship between light and object.
